The Museum's online game From Ellis Island to Orchard Street was a finalist in the Education category at this year's South by Southwest Interactive festival in Austin. The winners were announced yesterday and, sadly, we weren't among them. But that doesn't mean you can't still enjoy the game!
Step back in time to 1916 and let Turkish-Sephardic immigrant Victoria Confino be your guide to life in America. You'll go through inspection at Ellis Island, find an apartment on the Lower East Side, figure out how to get a job, and decide whether you'd like a knish or a new-fangled America hot dog for lunch.
You can also visit Victoria and her apartment in person on the Museum's Confino Family Tour, offered on weekends.
